Introducing Single Sign-On (SSO)

We’re excited to announce that Re-TRAC now supports single sign-on (SSO), a secure authentication service that improves security and simplifies user access management. 


What is SSO?

Single sign-on (SSO) is a user authentication service that permits users to use one set of login credentials to access multiple software applications. 

SSO is like having one key to unlock many doors. Instead of needing a different key for each door (or different usernames & passwords for each account), SSO lets you use just one key to access multiple accounts.

How does it work?

Once SSO is configured for your organization, the standard Re-TRAC login page will direct your account administrators and program managers to a centralized SSO login portal instead.

This SSO login portal is typically managed by your organization's central identity provider (usually the IT department) and handles authentication for all service providers, including Re-TRAC.

Benefits of using SSO

There are many benefits to using SSO but here are the most common reasons organizations choose to implement this add-on service.

Boost security

Weak or repeatedly reused passwords pose a significant risk for security breaches. Implementing a central identity provider enables organizations to promote the use of a single, highly secure password instead of resorting to multiple inadequate ones or, even worse, using the same weak password across various applications.

How do I activate SSO for my Re-TRAC account?

Account admins for customer Re-TRAC accounts can request SSO by visiting their Account Settings page and clicking the CONTACT SALES button. Alternatively, customers can email us at sales@re-trac.com to inquire.

Which identity providers do you support?

Re-TRAC uses the industry-standard Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML). Our single sign-on feature integrates with any identity provider that supports SAML.
